EcoGreenlogoEcoGreen Real Estate Agent Mission:
Provide information about sustainable and healthy home and business environments through conservation of natural resources, improved quality of indoor air and water, and ecologically friendly techniques of building and land use.

I completed extensive training in order to become a certified EcoGreen agent and look forward to using this specialty to help my clients find homes that provide a healthy and efficient environment to live in.

The sale of a home is a perfect time for both buyers and sellers of property to make choices that can increase the energy efficiency of their home, improve the indoor air quality, and use environmentally friendly material when upgrading and remodeling their homes and businesses. These same choices can increase the value of the property, reduce pollution in the environment, and reduce depletion of the earth’s resources.

This page is designed to provide a list of local companies and individuals who's business is focussed on low-impact practices as well as hints and concepts that you can use on a daily basis. Sonoma County's Energy Independence Program (AB811)
AB811 is your opportunity to finance energy and water efficiency projects on your existing home through a property tax assessment with no out-of-pocket expenses.

- Participation in the program is entirely voluntary

- There is no credit check since payment goes directly to the project contractors

- Permanent improvements like insulation, cool roofing, heating and air conditioning systems, waterless urinals, solar panels and energy efficient windows are examples of approved projects.

- Voluntary assessments are a lien on the property itself; when the property is sold, the assessment stays with the property.

- Repayment is through your property tax bill over a 10-20 year period at an interest rate of 7%.

- You can finance projects up to 10% of the assessed value of your home.

You can use companies like Sustainable Spaces to first get a home energy audit and roadmap to help determine which projects best fit your home. Audits cost about $395 for a 2000 sf home.
